Senior Physician Outpatient Clinics as well as Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry The University Clinic for Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy is a renowned university hospital in the field of mental health and research. In the outpatient sector, in addition to a general outpatient clinic, we offer a variety of specialist outpatient clinics as well as group offers. Diagnostic assessments, second opinions, and in individual cases, short-term therapies are carried out. For special indications, outpatient clinics are offered in cooperation with clinics and institutes of the Inselspital within the framework of fixed cooperations. Furthermore, the consultation and liaison service represents a central interface between psychiatry and somatic medicine. Our consultative medical team supports inpatient and outpatient treatment teams in somatic specialist departments in the diagnosis and therapy of mental illnesses. In doing so, the holistic view of the patients, the close cooperation with other specialist disciplines, and the development of individualized treatment strategies are the priority. A further important part of the consultative psychiatric activity is the co-supervision of the Bewachungsstation Inselspital (BEWA), a nationwide unique institution of the judicial system of the Canton of Bern. It serves the medical treatment of somatically and/or mentally ill or injured inmates of all types of detention, age groups and genders, who cannot be admitted to another hospital for security reasons or cannot be treated in prison/correctional institution for medical reasons. In addition to the clinical activity in the above-mentioned areas, we offer versatile opportunities for further education and research in these exciting and dynamic fields of work. As a recognized training site, there is the possibility at the UPZ to acquire the specialization in Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry. Your tasks You work outpatient in the area of the outpatient clinics and are responsible for the diagnostics, therapy planning and implementation of psychiatric treatments You are responsible for the supervision of the assistant physicians In the Consultation and Liaison Service (K&L) of the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, you are co-responsible for conducting psychiatric consultations in the approx. 40 different clinics of the Inselspital (including intensive care units and special consultations) as well as in the area of the forensic liaison service at the Bewachungsstation Inselspital You work very closely with other specialist departments and interdisciplinary teams You participate in the senior physician on-call service of the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy You are actively involved in the education and training for the specialty of psychiatry at the University of Bern and the candidates for the specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy You support ongoing projects in research and can, if interested, develop your own projects within the framework of the clinic's research concept Your profile You possess the specialist title in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy with MEBEKO recognition (mandatory for foreign diplomas) Clinical experience in the field of Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry is an advantage Leadership experience and organizational skills as well as interest in taking on leadership and training responsibility round off your profile Teamwork and communication skills are among your strengths Commitment to the continuous development of the outpatient clinics and consultative psychiatry Readiness for interdisciplinary cooperation You possess very good oral as well as written German skills The UPZ The Universitäre Psychiatrische Zentrum Bern (UPZ) is, as a university clinic, the leading competence center for psychiatry and psychotherapy in the capital region.
