The Department of Social Work is looking for the specialist team Admissions and Student Advisory at the interface with the International Office as of 01 October 2026 or by arrangement a/an Research Assistant (60%) ## As a Research Assistant within the framework of a Master's funding position you have the chance to gain in-depth insights into different areas of admissions, student advisory, and teaching organization. In addition, you will support the International Office in advising and accompanying students from abroad as well as in the organization and implementation of events. The employment requires the simultaneous completion of our consecutive Master's degree program in Social Work at the latest from the spring semester 2027 at the OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule and is limited to three years . Your tasks • Support the International Office Social Work in the organization of mobility for students and lecturers. This includes, among other things, the support and advising of "Incoming Students", participation in the organization of events such as the International Week or the International Course, or communication • Support and cooperation in the admission of students to the Bachelor's degree program in Social Work • Participation in internal and external information events for the Bachelor's degree program in Social Work and conducting initial interviews with prospective students, in close coordination with the specialist team • Support the specialist team leadership in the communication and documentation of the team's work • Processing of student concerns, especially in cooperation with the SOSA (Student Organization of Social Work) • Cooperation on projects within the framework of defined project assignments Your qualification • Completed Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related discipline • Enrollment or admission for the consecutive Master's studies in Social Work at the OST • Professional experience in professional Social Work • Strong intercultural competence and very good English skills (C1 level); further foreign language skills are an advantage • Interest in the internationalization of a university • Experience in project work is desirable • Ability to work independently and responsibly both within the specialist team and in cooperation with the International Office • Enjoyment in dealing with people and very good communication skills • Strong organizational skills and a structured way of working • Confident use of modern digital work tools as well as willingness to take on administrative tasks within the scope of the function We offer • modern employment conditions and a workplace directly near the main station St.Gallen • forward-looking areas of activity in a dynamic university environment and membership in a collegial and dynamic team Your benefits with us Our benefits can be found on our career page .
