ICT-System Engineer (Operation POLYCOM)

This is the contribution you can make • Operate the security radio system POLYCOM for the users of the army and affiliated federal organizations • Manage and configure end devices in cooperation with the responsible bodies for operations and logistics • Ensure the seamless operation of the POLYCOM core infrastructure of the defense subnetwork • Participate in the project for the further development of POLYCOM in the defense subnetwork, from planning through design and development of demanding concrete solution proposals to testing, delivery and operation of the solutions • Ensure IT service management for long-term use of the services as well as representation in national working groups (as required) • Create documentation, knowledge building and training for the operations team and users What makes you unique • Training as an IT specialist (HF/FH), technician HF or engineer (HF/FH) in the field of telecommunications or computer science • Sound knowledge of digital radio technology as well as basic understanding of mobile communications technologies (4G/LTE, 5G, Mobile Core, VoLTE, IMS) • Good knowledge of IP networks (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, DNS, VPN, Firewalls) as well as IT service management • Knowledge in monitoring, troubleshooting and quality assurance of communication systems • Basic knowledge of security aspects of communication networks (e.g. encryption, authentication, certificate management) • Structured and independent way of working in the operation and project environment, including cooperation with suppliers What we offer • Working for Switzerland We are committed to the success model Switzerland and work for the benefit of the population. • Lived diversity Thanks to equal opportunity we unfold our competencies and bring in different perspectives. • Healthy at the workplace We support and advise our employees in the area of physical and mental health.
