Your tasks • You support the migration of existing databases from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL • You analyze current databases, data structures, and systems • You plan and accompany the entire migration process (including strategy and implementation) • You ensure that the data is transferred correctly and securely • You optimize the performance of the new PostgreSQL databases • You develop solutions for backup, recovery, and fail-safety • You adapt existing database objects such as views, functions, or procedures • You identify technical dependencies and develop suitable solutions • You support testing (migration and performance) • You document your work and pass on your knowledge to internal teams Your profile • Several years of experience in the field of databases (approx. 8–10 years, Senior Level) • Very good knowledge of PostgreSQL • Experience with migrations from SQL Server to PostgreSQL • Very good SQL skills • Experience with performance optimization and database architecture • Knowledge of topics such as backup, recovery, and high availability • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working • Ability to explain technical topics in a comprehensible way • Experience in collaborating with different teams
