• Good knowledge of two official languages and English

Agroscope is the federal competence center for research in the agricultural and food industry. Researchers carry out their activities at various locations in Switzerland. Headquarters is Bern-Liebefeld (from 2026: Posieux FR). Agroscope is located within the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research WBF.

Additional information

The Forage Production and Grassland Systems group works from the valley to the alpine region for sustainable grassland management. We create knowledge for a grassland that provides both high-quality, farm-specific meadow forage as well as diverse ecosystem services. To this end, we research site-adapted, efficient management, new artificial meadow mixtures and the stand management of natural meadows. The knowledge of the ecological processes of meadows and pastures contributes to using their resources sustainably and making the grassland fit for current challenges such as climate change.
