Mandatory criteria

• Admission age limit: be at least 18 years old,
• Nationality: be of Swiss nationality or in possession of a C permit,
• Domicile: The domicile area is defined by the employer,
• The French language: have a certificate of success for the complete French test organized by UNIGE (online registration at https://mdl.unige.ch/fr/servicecite/cfps/examen-francais/examen-pour-le-metier-a-la-police-municipale/)
• Practice of a foreign language: knowledge of a second language (A2 level),
• Education: have successfully completed a 3-year post-obligatory training, recognized at the federal level,

Foreign diplomas and certificates: please inquire on the Confederation website for the recognition of diplomas. Before this and if necessary, you must first have your documents translated by an official professional translator

• Background: have a clean criminal record. Not be subject to debt enforcement or bankruptcy proceedings. Unfavorable judicial or police records may be disqualifying in the selection and admission process;
• Driver's license: be in possession of a category B driver's license before the start of the training,
• Health: meet the medical criteria regarding health, visual acuity, and physical condition,

Once selected, you will follow an 8-month initial training (practical, theoretical, and tactical courses and participate in many physical activities) co-managed by the municipal police of the City of Geneva and the Centre de formation de la police et des métiers de la sécurité (CFPS).
