System Engineer

Responsibility for the stability and maintenance of our own on-premise infrastructure as well as customer server environments Technical 2nd/3rd level support with a focus on servers, networks and services (not classic end-user helpdesk; user management primarily during joiners/leavers) Solving complex requests in close exchange with the team Active collaboration on IT projects & process optimization Installation, configuration & maintenance of hardware/software 24/7 on-call readiness in a rotating system (approx. 1 week per month, fully compensated) Several years of sound professional experience in a comparable role (senior level) IT training or degree with relevant certifications Experience in Microsoft/Linux administration & MS Azure Proficient in using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JSM) Scripting knowledge: Bash, Python, PowerShell Know-how in VMware, KVM, Zabbix & Veeam Familiar with AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO & network technology (VLAN, VPN, firewall) Independent, team player, communicative Fluent German & English Advantageous: Basic knowledge in SQL/PostgreSQL Ideally, you already bring organizational leadership skills French Development perspectives towards specialist or line management High degree of creative freedom and say in technical decisions (concrete input and suggestions are even desired: maker mentality) Access to the most modern technologies and the huge learning hub of the Sopra Steria Group Flexible working conditions with the possibility for home office and part-time models Very open and collegial cooperation, which is confirmed to us by our employees as part of the «Great Place to Work» certification Unfortunately, we cannot consider profile suggestions and applications from personnel service providers.
