The state forests of the Jura bernois protect villages and roads, provide wood and offer a habitat to flora and fauna. Through your work, you ensure that they continue to fulfill these functions in the future. You work outdoors within a small team, with modern equipment, and pass on your knowledge to the next generation.

Your tasks

• Semi-mechanized wood harvesting and in collaboration with forestry machines
• Care for young stands, mowing and forest maintenance
• Maintenance of forest roads and forest infrastructure
• Accompanying and training apprentices on a daily basis
• Depending on interest and skills, activity as a course instructor within the Entreprise Forêts domaniales

Your profile

• Completed CFC apprenticeship as a forester-logger
• First professional experience as a forester-logger
• Category B / BE driving license
• Good knowledge of French or willingness to learn French
• Interest in training apprentices and professional development in the forestry field

Entreprise Forêts domaniales

The Entreprise Forêts domaniales of the Office des forêts et des dangers naturels manages the forests of the canton of Berne, representing approximately 7 % of the forest area. We maintain protective, production and nature protection forests in an entrepreneurial manner and train apprentices. In the Jura bernois, the team consists of two foresters-loggers and one apprentice.
