The Service de gastroentérologie, d'hépatologie et nutrition provides diagnostic and non-surgical therapeutic care for patients suffering from diseases of the digestive tract, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas, taking into account the services provided by other HUG departments. It ensures the interventional endoscopic, percutaneous, and transhepatic services for the aforementioned organs. It actively participates in the Centre des affections hépato-biliaires et pancréatiques: a reference center in Switzerland. More than 1000 cases are discussed there per year. It manages patients suffering from liver, biliary tract, and pancreas diseases. These often complex cases require the opinion of several specialists. Assistant Professor or Assistant Physician in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department - 100% In your capacity as a senior physician, you will evolve in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, and you will be expected to participate in the clinical activities of the gastroenterology and hepatology department. You will assist the head of department and the assistant physicians in the care, coordination of practical activities, and clinical, therapeutic, and endoscopic interventions of the patients entrusted to you. You will participate in the second-line specialty on-call system. Demonstrating a confirmed interest in teaching, you will participate in pre/post-graduate and continuing education in gastroenterology and hepatology. Dynamic, flexible, and committed, you will develop interdisciplinary clinical projects. You will deploy and ensure research within the unit. Qualifications You hold a federal medical diploma and have obtained an FMH specialist title in gastroenterology and hepatology. If your diploma and specialization originate from a foreign country, you have obtained or must obtain recognition by the Commission des professions médicales of the Office fédéral de la santé publique (MEBEKO). You have several years of experience in gastroenterology and hepatology with recognized hyperspecialization in interventional endoscopy (ERCP, digestive stents, EMR, ESD) and diagnostic and therapeutic digestive echoendoscopy (more than 5 years independently). If you hold an advanced training diploma in interventional endoscopy and echoendoscopy, this would be an asset. You also possess a doctoral thesis, a privat-docent, or a title deemed equivalent. You possess or must obtain a Geneva cantonal right of practice. For non-French speaking candidates, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required. Possessing excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are a dynamic, flexible, and committed person. Furthermore, you have demonstrated strong adaptability skills. You show open-mindedness and possess leadership qualities allowing you to supervise and mentor interns and clinical chiefs as well as to support and motivate staff. You have demonstrated teaching skills and have a strong taste for research and innovation. Finally, you have the ambition to promote and develop high-level clinical and academic activity in your field of specialty.
