Assistant Physician in inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry

The assistant physician within the UHPA (Unité d’Hospitalisation Psychiatrique pour Adolescents) will have the main mission of actively participating in the assessment, monitoring, and management of adolescents in psychological distress, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. He or she will contribute to ensuring the quality of care in a hospital setting, within a therapeutic framework adapted to the specificities of the adolescent population. To this end, the missions are as follows: Perform child and adolescent psychiatric assessments of patients Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the child and adolescent psychiatric team Ensure the clinical follow-up of hospitalized patients, by monitoring their progress and readjusting treatment plans according to the evolution of their health status Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications Take charge of adolescents in psychiatric crisis situations (acute crises, suicide attempts, behavioral disorders) Intervene in case of acute psychiatric crisis and provide emergency care for hospitalized adolescents. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records Propose family support to complement the individual care of the patient Participate in the development and implementation of child and adolescent psychiatric protocols and procedures for the inpatient sector Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for patients Participate in on-call duties for child and adolescent psychiatric emergencies external to the unit The possession of a medical degree or an equivalent title recognized by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions (MEBEKO) is mandatory. Experience of at least 1 year of assistantship in adult psychiatry or pediatrics is required; experience of at least 1 year in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy would be ideal. A proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential. A strong commitment to medical training and the dissemination of knowledge is required. In this full-time role, you will work in collaboration with child and adolescent psychiatrists and other health professionals (psychologists, nurses, medical secretary) to provide high-quality child and adolescent psychiatric care to our patients in a hospital setting. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Mental Health Hub of the Réseau de l'ARC is an ISFM training establishment (recognition in progress for category B) for inpatient and outpatient activity.
