• 15 July 2026 • 100% • Indefinite duration • Geneva New New Energy Safety and Rescue Manager (Geneva - Switzerland) As the New Energy Safety and Rescue Manager for the FIA, reporting to the Head of Operational Safety, this key position strengthens operational safety by developing and implementing rescue solutions and overseeing regulations for vehicles powered by emerging technologies. Based in Geneva in a dynamic and international environment, you will work closely with the Technical and Sporting Departments, Medical Affairs, ASNs, event organizers, and manufacturers, combining technical safety expertise and operational rescue knowledge to maintain the highest standards of preparedness, response capability, and risk mitigation at all levels of motorsport. MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: New Technology Safety • Act as the safety point of reference for operational risks associated with high voltage systems and hydrogen vehicle technologies. • Oversee the development and implementation of FIA regulations, directives, and operational procedures related to new technologies. • Coordinate with the FIA Technical and Sporting Departments, the FIA Safety Engineering Group, ASNs, Organizers, promoters, and manufacturers regarding safety requirements and the implementation of safety regulations. • Manage the network of FIA Electrical and Hydrogen Safety Delegates. • Oversee the development of training programs for rescue teams, officials, and event personnel. • Contribute to technical risk assessments and the validation of emergency response concepts for new vehicle technologies. • Support ASNs in the implementation of new energy safety regulations for national competitions. Operational Rescue Leadership • Work closely with the FIA Medical Affairs Managers. • Support the development and implementation of FIA rescue procedures, including technical extraction, and operational safety standards in FIA championships. • Monitor rescue preparedness and emergency response capabilities during FIA events. • Contribute to post-incident investigations, lessons learned exercises, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Develop operational guides, rescue manuals, and emergency response procedures. • Develop and implement ad hoc tools and communications to enable the sharing and dissemination of FIA tools and best practices at the ASN level. Regulatory and Strategic Activities • Support FIA Commissions and Working Groups on safety and rescue issues related to new energies. • Oversee the development of FIA regulations, directives, recommendations, and best practices relating to new energies and rescue issues. • Monitor technological developments and emerging risks relevant to motorsport safety. • Define and monitor the budget related to rescue and new energy activities. PROFILE: • Engineering degree or recognized engineering technician qualification with significant relevant experience. • Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Emergency Services Management, or other relevant discipline strongly desired. • 10 years of experience in rescue operations, emergency response, firefighting, or first responder activities, particularly in incident command and crisis management roles. • Proven experience with electric vehicles, high voltage systems, battery safety, or hydrogen technologies. • Experience in developing operational procedures, training programs, or safety regulations; experience in motorsport rescue operations is strongly desired. • Recommended training in hydrogen safety and emergency response (e.g., DGUV 209-093 Information or equivalent recognized program). • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (such as ISO 6469, ECE R100, ECE R134, GTR13, or equivalent). • Ability to assess hazards, understand motorsport operational structures, and support safe emergency interventions involving alternative propulsion technologies. • Mastery of English required (professional and highly fluent level); good knowledge of French is a significant asset. • Availability to travel as required by the international scope of the position.
