The Städtische Gesundheitsdienste (SGD) are a service department of the Gesundheits- und Umweltdepartement with around 250 employees, offering a variety of health services for the population of the City of Zurich. They comprise the business areas Stadtärztlicher Dienst (SAD), Zürich im Alter (ZiA), Public Health (PH), Spitex, Management & Support.

The City of Zurich offers older residents a wide range of services in various areas of life. The Fachstelle Zürich im Alter operates contact points in Oerlikon/Seebach, Wipkingen and in Klus Park for all questions relating to aging. Information and counseling, preventive health counseling with home visits, registration for municipal elderly housing offers, support with the search for accommodation and an online platform with services for old age are among the offerings of the Fachstelle.

Due to retirement, we are looking for a committed personality for the leadership of the Specialist Team Social Work for our specialist department Zürich im Alter as of 1 March 2027 or by arrangement.

Tasks

• You lead the team of social workers - at three locations - both professionally and personally.
• You ensure a high-quality and needs-oriented service in social counseling.
• You ensure the continuous further development of the target group- and customer-oriented information and counseling services (contact point for all age-related questions).
• You play a decisive role in shaping the strategic direction of the Fachstelle and support projects of the Altersstrategie 2035.
• You actively network with partner organizations in the field of aging and represent the Fachstelle in specialist groups, projects and in public relations work.

Profile

• University of Applied Sciences degree (Bachelor or Master) in Social Work or comparable level of training
• Sound knowledge in the field of aging and health as well as experience in community work
• Several years of leadership experience
• Understanding of political framework conditions and municipal structures
• Engaging and communicative personality with a confident appearance and a high degree of independence and initiative
