As part of a succession plan, we are looking for a new Head of Internal Financial Control 80-100% as of November 1, 2026, or by agreement. In this management function, you will be responsible for the systematic and risk-oriented planning and implementation of financial control. You will check the propriety and legality within the city administration, including special accounts, and carry out standard, focal point, and ad-hoc audits. You will create clear audit reports with concrete recommendations for action, report to the responsible political authorities, and coordinate with the external auditing firm. Additionally, you will advise the management bodies on issues related to IKS, risk management, governance, and procurement. You will lead two directly subordinate employees, regulate the internal organization, and be responsible for the budget, investment planning, and accounting of the Financial Control department. To be successful in this responsible role, we are looking for an integrit, analytical, and socially competent personality. You have a degree in business or economics from a university of applied sciences or a university, or you are a certified expert in accounting and controlling. Additionally, you have a degree as a certified public accountant or a certification as a Certified Internal Auditor CIA. We require several years of professional experience in a comparable function, ideally with experience in the public administration environment. You master the balance between control and partnership consulting. Your analytical and conceptual skills, your economic thinking, and your ability to communicate complex issues clearly and in a target-group-oriented manner will help you. You are integrit, independent, and objective, appear confidently at the management level, and combine assertiveness with social competence.
