LI-Hybrid # Job Description We are looking for a hands-on software engineer to join the AI research team at Nexthink. Your job consists of building advanced prototypes that test whether an AI idea works, with enough value to be presented to real users, and proving which ones deserve to become products for Nexthink customers. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but you must be enthusiastic about the technology and eager to experiment and tinker with it. Engineering depth is important here: a prototype that encounters real data and real users must always be well-built, and the design choices you make determine whether it can be industrialized later. We also expect you to be obsessed with the user: imagining the entire journey and building the smoothest possible experience, not just a technical capability. The team works in AI-first mode by default, and you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and management, so clear and structured communication is essential. Main Responsibilities: As a member of the AI research team at Nexthink, you will: Build advanced prototypes of AI-powered capabilities: fast and good enough to be presented to real users Create demonstrations, conduct experiments, and evaluations showing whether a capability works for our users and deserves to be pursued Make the design and architecture decisions that keep a prototype quick to modify now and viable to industrialize later Experiment with new AI tools and techniques, share your learnings with the internal AI community, and raise the engineering bar through code review, pair programming, and mentoring Qualifications BSc/MSc in computer science, software engineering, or a related field More than 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a track record of building and delivering real software Strong foundation in software engineering, systems design, and architecture, including enterprise or distributed systems Proven experience of transforming a prototype idea into a real product used by people Hands-on and code-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity and research work Obsessed with user experience: you think in user journeys, you have taste, and you know how to judge when something is good enough to be presented to a client Strong interest in AI and a real willingness to experiment: you have built things with LLMs or AI tools, at work or outside, and want to do more Comfortable taking technical responsibility and mentoring less experienced engineers Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential in accordance with EEO guidelines.
