Head of Special Execution - Member of Executive Management JVA Thorberg 100% Start date: 1. February 2027 Work location: Krauchthal "Execution according to measure" is our motto at the JVA Thorberg. We execute sanctions for 180 men from over 40 nations in closed execution. Our 140 employees are committed daily to the reintegration of the inmates into society and thus make an important contribution to public safety. In eleven workshops, we lead and promote the inmates according to work-agogic principles. Our programs in the areas of care, work, therapy, education, sport, and leisure are consistently oriented towards risk reduction and the social integration of the admitted persons. The Special Execution area comprises four residential departments: the admission department/assessment center, security execution (solitary confinement, residential group for increased security, as well as detention department); long-term execution for long-sentenced and detained admitted persons (EP), as well as the residential area of special execution catering (EP, all of whom work in the kitchen/bakery). In addition, the "Psychological Assessment" team is attached to the area as a staff unit. 4 care teams take care of the socio-pedagogical daily organization in the residential departments and in the leisure time of the EP, whereby the maintenance of security and order is of great importance. Psychologists prepare the files in the admission department, perform a risk assessment for each EP, and provide the JVA with a case summary and a provisional execution plan. The concepts of dynamic security and risk-oriented sanction execution ROS are central to activities in Special Execution. We are looking for a leadership personality who challenges and promotes their employees. Also, professional relationship management in relation to the EP should be an important concern for them. Furthermore, they must always be aware that they are working in a closed JVA. Your tasks You lead the Special Execution personnel-wise (22 full-time positions), organizationally, and professionally, and are supported in this by 2 directly subordinate team leaders. In addition, you lead the psychologists' team of "psychological assessment" as a staff unit. You lead the admission department and are responsible for the occupancy management of the JVA as well as a risk-oriented admission practice. Within the framework of admission decisions, you carry out the necessary clarifications with the probation and execution services. You are responsible for the socio-pedagogical daily and leisure organization on the residential floors of the Special Execution, taking into account the maintenance of security and order. You ensure compliance with the JVA's rules and processes as well as the standards in the areas of (work) safety, order, and hygiene within your area of responsibility. Particularly in security execution, you are responsible for examining admissions, assessing execution progress, and developing and implementing recommendations for internal progression steps. Together with the security execution team leadership, you bear the responsibility for the implementation and compliance of security-relevant specifications and standards. You represent your area at JVA-internal case discussions and at execution coordination meetings with the probation and execution services. You are responsible for disciplinary matters if rule violations by the EP occur in your area. You lead projects and develop concepts and processes with a focus on "socio-pedagogical daily organization" of your departments. You consider it a central task to promote interdisciplinary cooperation in the JVA and include the concerns and perspectives of other professions in your considerations and decisions. As a member of the Executive Management, you represent your area of responsibility and participate in strategic and operative decisions that are important for the overall management of the JVA. As a member of the Executive Management, you provide on-call services on a weekly basis outside of office hours for the entire JVA. Your profile You have a sound education or further training in the tertiary sector (Social Work, (Social) Pedagogy, or Psychology at HF, FHS, or University level) and several years of professional experience. Ideally, you bring professional experience in a JVA and are familiar with the ROS concept. You have completed leadership training and have successfully demonstrated your leadership for several years as a leader of a larger team. You have already successfully led projects. Conceptual work suits you. You analyze in a structured manner and write very stylistically confident in German. You think in a risk-oriented manner, act responsibly, and ensure a safe and smooth operational process. You keep a cool head even under stress. You are upright, highly committed, flexible, and resilient. You have an understanding of the multicultural clientele of a closed JVA and encounter admitted persons with respect. You see interdisciplinary cooperation in the Executive Management and with the employees of other areas as a gain for the functioning of the JVA as a whole. You can communicate easily with the inmates and their visitors orally in German and English. Further oral foreign language skills are very welcome.
