What you can achieve

• Co-responsibility for the operation and further development of virtual environments based on VMware, Nutanix and Open Source Hypervisor
• Operating, administering and further developing Windows and Linux development systems on workstations and VDI
• Continuous improvement of the network infrastructure as well as ensuring network security
• Implementing, migrating and operating IT systems
• Developing scripts for the automation of OS and application installations
• Analyzing malfunctions and error states as well as initiating corresponding measures for their rectification
• Defining escalation procedures
• Creating and maintaining system technical documentation

What you bring with you

• Vocational training or higher education in computer science or lateral entrant with corresponding further training in computer science
• Several years of professional experience as a System Engineer, ideally in the Windows and Linux environment
• Sound knowledge in VMware, especially with VCF Operations/Automation and vSphere Kubernetes Service
• Experience with cyber security solutions and firewalls such as Check Point and Fortinet
• Knowledge in script creation with PowerShell, Bash, PHP or Python
• Strong problem-solving skills as well as an independent and proactive way of working
• Very good German skills; English skills at level B2 are an advantage
• Military career as a higher non-commissioned officer or officer is an advantage
