Your contribution

• Carry out technical analyses and calculations to determine the potential risk of dam installations and their subjection to federal legislation
• Assist in the development of methods and tools for analyzing installations
• Apply and further develop calculation models in Excel and, if necessary, QGIS
• Support the drafting of subjection orders under the Dam Installation Act (StAG) for selected installations
• Support the Dams Section in its tasks

What makes you unique

• Bachelor (ongoing) at a university of applied sciences or university in a technical (e.g., civil engineering, environment, hydraulics) or scientific field
• Interest in issues regarding installation safety and natural hazards
• Good knowledge of Excel (data analysis, formulas, optionally VBA) as well as basic knowledge of QGIS (for processing DTM data and Python)
• Motivation to learn new tools (geometric analysis, geospatial data)
• Analytical thinking skills, accuracy and an independent way of working
• Good active knowledge of at least one second official language and, if possible, passive knowledge of a third official language

Participate in a concrete engineering project in which it is examined whether certain protective structures have a sufficient hazard potential to be subject to federal legislation. In doing so, you contribute to the prevention of natural hazards and to the safety of the population.
