In the newly established, group-wide Data, AI & Analytics (DAA) department, we create the foundation for data-driven decisions and the targeted use of artificial intelligence - from the central data platform to concrete business use cases.

For the establishment of our central DAA team (Hub) at the headquarters in Schönenwerd or at our subsidiary in Mahlberg, we are looking for an experienced, conceptually strong personality as a Data Engineer (m/f/d) 100%.

The role is situated with the Head of Data, AI & Analytics, who reports directly to the CIO.

Your tasks - responsibility with room for design ##

• Conception and modeling of the group-wide data model as well as answering central data architecture questions within the framework of the Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
• Construction, operation and further development of the data pipelines for the integration of the leading source systems - in particular IFS ERP, Salesforce CRM, Rexx HRM, Tacto SCM and the IDM platform - into the central data lakehouse
• Development and maintenance of the data infrastructure based on Microsoft Fabric, including incremental loading strategies and, where appropriate, event-based integration
• Ensuring data quality, consistency and availability as a reliable basis for reporting (Power BI), self-service analytics and AI use cases
• Close cooperation with Analytics Engineer / BI Developer in providing the Gold Layer for semantic data models and Power BI dashboards
• Co-designing data governance standards together with the Data Governance & Quality Specialist (data glossary, data classification, GDPR/DSG compliance, Microsoft Purview)
• Technical contact person for IFS-related questions: coordination with Business Application (ERP/IFS) regarding data extraction, interfaces and architecture decisions
• Evaluation of the technical feasibility of new use cases (data availability, effort, architectural impacts) within the framework of the DAA use case process
• Documentation of data models, pipelines and architecture decisions according to group-wide binding standards

Your profile - what you bring with you ##

• Completed studies (FH/ETH/University) in computer science, data science, business informatics or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment with multiple source systems
• Sound experience in the conception and modeling of data models and data architectures (Data Warehouse / Lakehouse, Medallion architecture)
• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Power BI as well as semantic data models for reporting and self-service purposes
• Very good SQL skills as well as ideally experience with Python/PySpark for data transformations
• IFS know-how or experience in the integration of ERP systems is an advantage
• Knowledge of data governance topics (data quality, data protection/GDPR-DSG, data cataloging, e.g., Microsoft Purview) is an advantage
• Analytical, conceptually strong as well as structured and solution-oriented way of working
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working with specialist departments and data champions in an international environment (CH/DE/FR)
• Good German and English skills; French skills are an advantage
