IT Infrastructure Engineer / System Engineer (80–100 %)

Do you want to help shape modern IT infrastructures and apply your technical know-how directly with customers? To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed personality with sound experience in systems engineering and VMware virtualization.
In this versatile position, you will support our end customers, realize demanding infrastructure projects, and ensure the secure and reliable operation of their IT environments.

Your tasks

• Consulting and technical support for our end customers
• Analysis of customer requirements and development of suitable solution concepts
• Planning, installation, and further development of modern IT infrastructures
• Construction, operation, and optimization of VMware environments
• Implementation of migrations, updates, and lifecycle projects
• Administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
• Support of network, firewall, VPN, storage, and backup solutions
• Analysis and troubleshooting of malfunctions in 2nd and 3rd level support
• Support of customers via remote maintenance as well as directly on-site
• Implementation of IT security, patch, and authorization concepts
• Automation of recurring administration and operational tasks
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Coordination with manufacturers, suppliers, and external partners

Your profile

• Completed vocational training in computer science, preferably with a focus on platform development or systems engineering
• Professional experience in the engineering and operation of IT infrastructures
• Sound practical experience with VMware, especially:
• VMware vSphere
• VMware ESXi
• VMware vCenter
• Virtual machines, templates, and snapshots
• Migration, performance analysis, and lifecycle management
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
• Knowledge in the areas of network, firewall, VPN, storage, and backup
• Experience in supporting end customers and enjoyment of direct customer contact
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
• Professional and friendly appearance
• Very good German skills as well as good technical English skills
• Readiness for customer assignments on-site
• Driver's license category B, if required for customer assignments

Advantageous

• Basic knowledge of ASP.NET Core and C#
• Understanding of web applications, REST-APIs, and databases
• Experience with PowerShell, Git, Docker, or Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of ITIL processes
• Certifications in the area of VMware, Microsoft, network, or IT security

Knowledge in ASP.NET Core is not a prerequisite, but a welcome plus – for example, for internal tools, interfaces, automation solutions, or customer-specific applications.
