Daycare Leader

With around 2200 employees, the Social Department of the City of Zürich works every day for a social Zürich. The Business Unit Childcare of the Social Institutions and Companies operates 11 daycare centers, a crisis intervention and a residential group for toddlers, a family meeting point and at two locations "Accompanied Visit Offers" for families in conflictual separation situations in the City of Zürich. In the Kita Birch, 36 daytime places are offered for children, including places for children with special care requirements. Group-overlapping work, where children from different cultures can discover the world under the inclusion of aspects of early childhood education, care and upbringing, forms the pedagogical focus. In the north of the City of Zürich - in Seebach - we will open the Kita Birch with three groups for children from 3 months to kindergarten entry in spring 2027. We are looking for a motivated, energetic personality who, with a focus on early childhood education, will help build and shape the daycare center from the start, starting on October 1, 2026. Daycare Leader 60-80% Tasks • You take over the pedagogical, personnel and organizational management of Kita Birch within the framework of the overarching conceptual and structural specifications. • You take on tasks in the area of quality assurance, further development and implementation of pedagogical concepts or offers and work in daycare-overlapping working groups. • You work closely with parents and with actors from the neighborhood. • You are responsible for organizational, planning, maintenance and controlling tasks. • You work on projects and develop concepts. Profile • Training in childhood pedagogy HF, social pedagogy/social work HF/FH or comparable degree as well as experience in leading a daycare center and corresponding further training in the area of management/leadership • Experience in situation- and education-oriented daycare pedagogy (BuLG, infans, situational approach, Pikler) • Joy in self-organized and structured work • Independent, communicative and resilient personality who likes to take responsibility Excellent administrative and organizational skills as well as skilled handling of IT We offer A challenging, varied challenge in a dynamic and pedagogically oriented environment, where the work with the children is at the center.
