Verification & Validation Engineer Railway Technology

You are responsible for the verification and validation of an ETCS/ATP train protection system in the vehicle integration project and ensure conformity with European standards.

Tasks

• Development of a validation and verification plan for the ETCS/ATP system integration into the vehicle
• Checking the requirements regarding the operating environment and use
• Assessment of the conformity of the development process with European standards including Safety Integrity Level (SIL)
• Verifying the correctness, consistency and suitability of test cases, tests and test tools
• Ensuring that all validation and verification activities are carried out according to EN standards
• Conducting audits, inspections or reviews in various phases of the project life cycle
• Issuing approvals or rejections for developed versions

Profile

• Completed technical training as an electrical or computer engineer (ETH/TU/FH) or comparable
• Several years of professional experience in the railway industry mandatory
• At least 8 years of experience in validation, verification or functional safety
• Knowledge of relevant IEEE, UNISIG and EN standards (e.g. EN 50126, EN 50129)
• Ideally experience with train protection systems
• Fluent German and English
