The Sozialpädiatrische Zentrum (SPZ) is an organizational unit at the Zentrum für Kinder- und Jugendmedizin of the Kantonsspital Winterthur. A therapy station for children and adolescents has been established for the area of inpatient psychosomatics. The service of the therapy station applies to a total of 12-14 patients who are treated for psychosomatic illnesses (including eating disorders, depression, pain disorders). During the day, the children and adolescents are cared for and supported by an interdisciplinary team consisting of social educators and nursing professionals in a milieu-therapeutic oriented setting. During the night, the care of the patients is guaranteed by a nursing professional.
