It ensures national and international coordination in various areas of crime and creates criminal analyses and police situation reports. The BKP is also the national competence center for combating digital crime. The Economic Crime (WK) department of the BKP conducts police investigations under the Code of Criminal Procedure and investigative proceedings under the leadership of the Federal Prosecutor's Office (BA).
