Professor for Spatial Development You are a well-connected expert in Switzerland and enjoy imparting profession-qualifying skills in spatial planning to the next generation and designing exciting research projects? Then we are looking for you as of 1. September 2027 or by agreement as Professor for Spatial Development (70-100%) You convey your knowledge and experience in a practice-oriented and interdisciplinary manner in the Bachelor's degree program in Urban, Traffic, and Spatial Planning, as well as in our Master's degree program in Spatial Development and Landscape Architecture as part of the Master of Science in Engineering, and conduct research and consulting in an application-oriented manner at the IRAP Institute for Spatial Development. Professor for Spatial Development Your tasks You teach aspiring planners in spatial planning and convey theory, basics, and practice of spatial planning at all state levels (communal, cantonal, and federal), with a focus on the communal level You acquire and process externally funded research, development, and consulting projects in the field of spatial development, as well as related disciplines, together with our team of professors and scientific staff You actively participate in the interdisciplinary institute work, especially in the Bachelor's degree program in Urban, Traffic, and Spatial Planning, and in the further development of the OST You develop further training offers in the field of spatial planning and related disciplines and design new, practice-relevant offers, and offer them with the IRAP team on the further education market Your qualifications You have a university degree in spatial planning or a comparable discipline You bring long-term practical experience in spatial planning, also outside of universities and colleges, and have worked on questions of local and area development yourself Ideally, economic experiences (e.g., regional economics, real estate economics) round off your profile You are intensively involved with central future questions of spatial development and have ideas for the further development of the discipline in Switzerland You bring a broad network of contacts in the spatial planning scene and know the challenges from the perspective of the public sector and/or planning offices from your practical work You have in-depth experience in knowledge transfer We offer An exciting and varied activity with high independence in interdisciplinary teaching and research teams at an attractive university Freedom for your personal initiative as well as support for your technical and didactic further development An attractive environment with modern infrastructure at the Rapperswil-Jona campus of the OST, in a central location directly on Lake Zurich and at Rapperswil train station Interest?
