The Fachstelle Betrieb Schulanlagen is the central facility management unit for the school buildings and kindergartens of the Erziehungsdepartement Basel-Stadt. For the maintenance of the 60 school buildings and 200 kindergartens, around 55 school and assistant caretakers are engaged, supported by 150 of their own cleaning employees and external cleaning institutes. For the care of various school buildings in Basel, we are looking for an Assistant Caretaker – Relief Worker (100%) to start immediately or by arrangement. In the role of Assistant Caretaker – Relief Worker, you will ensure the maintenance of the various school buildings together with the responsible school caretakers or as their deputy (relief worker). You will independently carry out cleaning as well as repair work and are responsible for safety on site. A completed vocational apprenticeship as Fachfrau bzw. Fachmann Betriebsunterhalt EFZ is a requirement for this position. You have good manners, are resilient and flexible. In addition, you can adapt well to different stakeholder groups such as school management, teachers as well as students and also act calmly, reliably and deliberately in hectic situations. The position is primarily aimed at recent graduates who are looking to enter the primary labor market and wish to gain their first professional experience in the field of building maintenance.
