Operations Engineer - Drinking Water

• 14 July 2026 • 80 - 100% • Indefinite duration • Genève Together we will achieve ## As a Drinking Water Operations Engineer, you will participate in the distribution of irreproachable quality drinking water for the clients of the canton of Genève, while contributing to the modernization of infrastructure and the anticipation of future needs. Attached to the Direction Thermique, Gaz et Eau, the SINERGI unit ensures operational, technical, and administrative support to the Drinking Water Gaz activity, while coordinating its digital transformation. It also contributes to the operation of the drinking water network, asset management, as well as the financial management of the activity. Your energy at the service of a sustainable Genève ## • Propose and ensure the follow-up of the adequacy between the hydraulic system and the drinking water needs of the canton, in coordination with the relevant teams ; • Participate in the definition of operating instructions in collaboration with the shift supervisors ; • Collaborate on analyses and optimization studies of drinking water works and networks ; • Perform hydraulic studies and contribute to large-scale engineering projects ; • Contribute to the processing of connection and network disconnection requests as well as to cross-functional projects related to the evolution of the drinking water system ; • Participate in the global monitoring of the system and in the processes of planning, resource optimization, and sanitary quality. Your personality and your skills ## Possessing an excellent sense of organization, you know how to effectively manage priorities in a demanding and constantly evolving environment. You demonstrate rigor and discernment, including in stressful situations. Autonomous and communicative, you adapt your exchanges to your interlocutors and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes. Your writing skills allow you to produce reliable and high-quality deliverables. You have solid skills in drinking water network hydraulics, notably in steady-state and transient dimensioning. You also possess good knowledge of operating systems (water treatment, pumping works, hydraulic equipment) as well as the analysis of operating data. A sensitivity to the challenges of sustainable management of water resources is expected. Knowledge of German and English is an asset. Your academic background • EPF or HES engineering degree in mechanical engineering (hydraulics option), environmental sciences, or equivalent training ; • 1 to 3 years of experience in the field of hydraulics ; • Knowledge of the Genevan territory and its specificities. Specific points This position is part of a support service operation by team. A weekly rotation is organized to ensure support to the control center, with associated compensation.
