Managing Director Pro Velo beider Basel (60-70%)

In 2027, our long-standing managing director will end his activity. For the succession, we are looking for a committed, cycling-enthusiastic managing director as of 1 March 2027 or by agreement.

Pro Velo beider Basel has been politically active for over 50 years and advocates for cycling in the two Basels and adjacent municipalities through various services and actions.

In transport policy, we advocate for safe and attractive cycle paths. In contact with the authorities, we remedy danger spots. In schools and companies, we promote cycling and transport education. For children, families and adults, we conduct riding courses.

Your tasks

As Managing Director of Pro Velo beider Basel, you are responsible for the organization and coordination of activities to increase the attractiveness of cycling in everyday life and to improve the cycling infrastructure in the Basel region.

Your main tasks are:

• Management of the office
• Management of the three employees of the office and of finance and accounting
• Examination of official transport planning
• Public relations and representation of interests towards administration, politics and other stakeholders
• Preparation of and participation in meetings (board, working groups)

What you bring

• Enthusiasm for everyday cycling
• Interest in transport planning; appropriate training or professional experience is an advantage, but not a requirement
• Flair for writing and for numbers
• Ability to lead a small team
• Project management experience
• Joy in building and maintaining a network in administration, politics and associations, and the ability to effectively represent our concerns within them
