Nursing Team Leader - UUA - 90%

As a nursing team leader (RES), you are responsible for supervising all activities of the ambulatory emergency unit (UUA).

You collaborate closely with the emergency department and ensure on-call duties in partnership with the various care sectors of the Department of Acute Medicine.

You are the guarantor of the quality of care and ensure the professional development of employees.

You coordinate and organize the proper allocation of resources by creating team schedules and the distribution of skills according to the needs of the unit.

Thanks to your interpersonal skills, your motivational abilities, and your open-mindedness, you support caregivers through the various phases of change.

Regarding professional practices, you participate in the evolution of clinical practices and ensure their deployment in compliance with institutional rules and in co-construction with the teams concerned.

You promote and ensure the implementation of interprofessional collaboration and teamwork in order to meet the issues and challenges encountered, while developing team spirit and promoting institutional values.

You collaborate closely with all professional categories and promote an interprofessional work dynamic, in the service of the quality and continuity of care.

You hold a HES Bachelor in nursing or an equivalent diploma recognized by the Swiss Red Cross as well as a diploma as an expert in emergency care. A right to practice in the canton of Geneva is indispensable.

A CAS in management of health institutions is required or must be acquired during employment.

You are a confirmed manager or have been selected for the RES succession program, under the aegis of the Human Resources Directorate and the Nursing Directorate.

You benefit from at least five years of practice in an acute or emergency hospital sector and experience in a managerial function is an asset.

A good command of common IT tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) is necessary, as well as care-related applications.

You have managerial and leadership skills and know how to manage complex situations.

In order to develop relationships of trust and a spirit of collaboration with your team and various professional partners, you possess excellent interpersonal qualities such as listening, the ability to unite, and positive managerial communication.

Open-mindedness and the ability to lead change are essential to successfully carry out this mission.

Furthermore, a good knowledge of community health as well as the Geneva care network would be an asset.

The Department of primary care medicine (https://www.hug.ch/departement-medecine-premier-recours) (DMPR) has the societal mission of enabling access to quality care for all through proximity medicine, ensuring the management of minor medical and surgical emergencies, promoting prevention among citizens, providing medical knowledge to judicial investigations, and promoting the health of travelers.

The Primary Care Medicine Service ensures the outpatient management of adult patients related to primary care medicine. This service also offers outpatient emergency medicine services to the population. As part of the HUG's missions of general interest, it offers access to care for populations disadvantaged by their age, social, economic, or legal status (asylum seekers, those struck by non-admission, undocumented persons, prisoners), or their lifestyle; if necessary, the primary care medicine service also ensures the continuity of their care.
