Domestic help / daily companion and care for elderly couple sought

For an elderly couple in the Canton Zürich, we are looking for an experienced, warm, and responsible personality who will accompany and support the couple comprehensively and in the long term in everyday life.

In addition to household support, the focus of this position is particularly on personal care, daily companionship, and support in the care of elderly people. Therefore, we are looking for a person with several years of practical experience in the care and support of seniors, who is familiar with the special needs of elderly people and who acts prudently and independently even in different everyday situations.

We wish for a trustworthy personality who enjoys personally accompanying elderly people, promoting their well-being in everyday life, and standing by them with patience, respect, and empathy.

Your tasks

Care and daily companionship

• Personal and individual care of the couple in everyday life
• Support with everyday tasks and, if required, with personal care
• Companionship during walks and activities
• Accompanying to doctor appointments, therapies, and other appointments
• Support with errands and shopping
• Providing company and promoting a pleasant, positive daily routine
• Attention to general well-being and individual support needs
• Observation of changes in physical or general well-being and passing on important information
• Independent and proactive action in everyday life
• Support with organizational and personal matters upon agreement

Household

• Cleaning and careful maintenance of the entire household
• Washing and, if required, ironing the laundry
• Order and organization in the household
• Support with shopping and smaller errands
• Ensuring a well-maintained and pleasant living environment
• Support in the kitchen as needed

Driving services

• Occasional driving of the couple by car
• Trips to doctor appointments, shopping, activities, and other errands

Your profile

For this responsible position, we are explicitly looking for a person with sound and practical experience in the care and support of elderly people.

You bring the following:

• Several years of experience in the care and support of elderly people
• Experience in dealing with elderly or people in need of assistance
• Experience as a nursing assistant, caregiver, daily companion, senior caregiver, housekeeper, or in a comparable activity
• Empathy and understanding of the individual needs of elderly people
• Confident and respectful interaction with people who require support in everyday life
• Ability to attentively perceive changes in well-being
• Reliable, careful, and independent way of working
• High sense of responsibility as well as discretion and trustworthiness
• Patience, warmth, and respectful interaction
• Joy in personal and long-term care
• Good German skills and good English skills
• Driving license category B and confident driving experience
• Willingness to drive the couple by car if required
• Flexibility and interest in a long-term collaboration

Training or further education in the nursing, care, or health sector is an advantage.
