What you can achieve

• Analyze procurement projects of the Swiss Army and derive strategic innovation priorities together with the business units.
• Build and maintain an innovation pipeline: identify, evaluate, and prioritize new technologies, business models, and growth fields.
• Lead cross-divisional innovation projects of strategic importance and anchor innovation methods within the company.
• Initiate and lead innovation projects according to the venture clienting approach, from startup identification and selection through to proof of concept, business case, and transition into mainstream operations.
• Provide functional leadership to project teams and collaborate with internal stakeholders, startups, universities, and other external partners of the innovation ecosystem.

What you bring with you

• Master or Bachelor in Business Administration / Industrial Engineering / or technical studies with further education MBA
• Min 5 years of relevant experience in innovation management, product management, business development, or similar
• Sound understanding of the Swiss defense environment, procurement processes (armasuisse, VBS) and relevant technology fields
• Methodological competence in innovation management (Venture Clienting, Design Thinking)
• Experience in business case creation, market analysis, and project management (innovation projects)
• Entrepreneurial, strategic, and networked thinking with structured prioritization
• Persuasiveness, leadership without formal hierarchy, discretion, and willingness to undergo a personal security check

The central innovation management of RUAG strengthens innovation capability and bundles our company-wide innovation initiatives and programs. It promotes bottom-up innovation or intrapreneurship and integrates external knowledge through collaboration with startups and universities.
