Through five faculties - Law, Psychology, Economics, History, and Mathematics & Computer Science - we have been shaping modern teaching, learning, and research for over 30 years. To strengthen our research activities at the psychology faculty (educational psychology), we are looking for a dedicated and forward-looking professional for the position of: Assistant de recherche (doctorant) en psychologie de l'éducation (80 % - 100 %) Place of work: Brig Start date: 1 September 2026 (with flexibility) The position can be structured either as a research position only or as a combined research and teaching position (80 % - 100 %). It is designed as a doctoral qualification position, with structured support for the completion of a thesis within a four-year contract period. Details can be discussed with the concerned candidate. The work is done at UniDistance in Brig, with the possibility of teleworking up to 40%. The selected candidate will join the Educational Psychology Laboratory led by Prof. Dr Tino Endres. The laboratory studies how learners construct complex knowledge, with a particular focus on the cognitive, metacognitive, and motivational processes that support or hinder learning. The doctoral thesis will have to fit into the laboratory's research themes and can be aligned with ongoing research projects. The exact subject will be developed jointly with the selected candidate. The research will be integrated into a solid national and international network and will be part of one of the two externally funded research projects of the laboratory, in collaboration with a partner university. Depending on the project, the collaboration will involve either the University of Zurich or the German universities of Fribourg and Giessen. This position offers the opportunity to work in close collaboration with established researchers at different universities and to be part of an active and internationally connected research environment in the field of learning and teaching.
