Finance Manager Directorate for International Law

This is your contribution As part of this function, you are responsible for: • the operation and continuous development of financial controlling, as well as financial planning and reporting in the DV • the needs-oriented provision of information relevant to decision-making and the support of the directorate management in the strategic and operational management of finances • the advice and support of the directorate management in strategic human resource management • risk advisory (risk coach), the operation of the Internal Control System (IKS officer), as well as Business Continuity Management (BCM officer) of the DV • the financial-administrative support of projects/actions with international law themes • the coordination of incoming departmental consultations from the departments and EDA-internal • the representation of the DV in various working groups and networks What makes you unique • University degree (Bachelor; Business Administration) or university of applied sciences degree in the field of economics, personnel, administration, finance and accounting; several years of professional experience. • Knowledge in business administration, finance and management, as well as in quality assurance and risk management • Knowledge of the legal bases relevant to the areas of activity (FHG, OR, SUG, ordinances and instructions EDA etc) • Knowledge of process and project management methods as well as contract management • Editorial skills in at least 2 official languages What we offer • Working for Switzerland We are committed to the success model of Switzerland and work for the benefit of the population. • Lived diversity Thanks to equal opportunity, we develop our competencies and bring in different perspectives. • Healthy at the workplace We support and advise our employees in the area of physical and mental health. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) coordinates and shapes Swiss foreign policy on behalf of the Federal Council, protects the interests of the country and promotes Swiss values. The Directorate for International Law (DV) is the federal competence center for international law issues. It deals mainly with legal issues surrounding international relations and the foreign policy of Switzerland. The directorate also contributes to the further development of international law by participating in the negotiation, conclusion and implementation of international law treaties. Compliance with and promotion of international law have always played a priority role in Swiss foreign policy and contribute to its coherence and credibility. The DV protects the interests of Switzerland in terms of international law and monitors the correct interpretation and application of international law by the Swiss authorities, both in Switzerland and abroad. The directorate also includes the Swiss Maritime Navigation Office in Basel.
