Public Relations/Events Specialist for the Library (approx. 70%)

Uster, the third largest city in the Canton of Zürich, is a dynamically growing city in the Greater Zürich area with around 38'000 inhabitants and is known as an innovative regional center.

The Stadt- und Regionalbibliothek Uster is an open, customer- and family-friendly library. We want to maintain and strengthen this good image. We see ourselves as a Third Place and organize numerous mediation offers for children and adults.

The Stadt- und Regionalbibliothek Uster wants to continue to develop into a place for learning, information, and leisure and is looking for a person for public relations and events as of 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.

In this versatile function, you are responsible for the planning and implementation of events as well as the public relations and marketing of the library. Together with the team, you will further develop the library as a lively meeting place and ensure high visibility in the public.

Your main tasks

• Events: Concept, detailed planning, public relations, implementation, evaluation
• Public relations: Website, newsletter, press work, social media, video, posters, customer info
• Marketing: Customer advertising, user loyalty, sponsoring
• Projects: Collaboration
• Lending: Counter service

What you bring with you

• Professional experience in the areas of public relations, marketing and/or event organization as well as corresponding education or further training
• Interest in libraries, media and cultural offerings
• Creative, proactive and organized personality with an independent and efficient way of working
• Joy in working in a team, in contact with different stakeholders and in appearing before an audience
• Readiness for deployment in the lending service as well as for occasional evening and weekend shifts
