We are looking for, effective immediately or by arrangement, a

Chemical Laboratory Technician EFZ – Reference Materials & Analytics (m/f/d) – 80-100%

In this versatile role, you will take on a wide spectrum of tasks in elemental analysis and in the production of metallic reference materials and will actively contribute to the training of our apprentices.

Your main tasks include

• Conducting analyses using ICP-OES, ICP-MS, spark-OES, AAS, and XRF, incl. various digestion techniques such as microwave digestion
• Titration and UV/VIS spectrometry as well as C/S and O/N/H determination in solid samples
• Sample preparation and machining for wet chemistry
• Development, validation/verification, and implementation of new analytical methods
• Conducting homogeneity tests on reference materials
• Conducting and documenting certification analyses of reference materials according to current quality guidelines
• Equipment responsibility as well as maintenance of the laboratories
• Writing and maintaining QM documents, analysis regulations
• Supervision and training of apprentices in elemental analysis as well as acting as an examination expert of the Canton of Schaffhausen

What you bring with you

• Completed training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician EFZ or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in an accredited testing laboratory, ideally with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, AAS, XRF, and wet chemistry
• Vocational trainer training is an advantage or willingness to acquire it
• Familiarity with the working standards ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17034, and cGMP
• Independent, careful, and customer-oriented way of working
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Very good German and good English skills
