Research Assistant

The IFSAR Institut für Soziale Arbeit und Räume is part of the Departement Soziale Arbeit. For the interdisciplinary thematic focuses "Wohnen und Nachbarschaften" as well as "Aufwachsen und Bildung", we are looking for starting 1 February 2027 or by arrangement: Research Assistant (60%). We are addressing persons who are enrolled in the Master's degree program in Soziale Arbeit at the Berner Fachhochschule, the Hochschule Luzern, and the OST at the St. Gallen location, or who are planning a degree starting from the academic year 2027/2028. The position offers the opportunity to gain experience in various service areas of the IFSAR in parallel to the Master's studies. The employees of the IFSAR are active in research and development and provide services for social institutions, administrations, authorities, and companies. In addition, they are involved in continuing education as well as in teaching at Bachelor and Master levels. ###

Your tasks

• Collaboration in the acquisition of new research, development, and service projects (e.g., preparation of offers and applications)
• Collaboration in ongoing interdisciplinary research, development, and service projects (e.g., data collection and data evaluation on the basis of social science methods)
• Support with transfer products such as presentations, publications, workshops, newspaper articles, etc.
• Research on the subject areas of the work priorities
• Support with project management tasks (e.g., preparation of minutes, organization of project- and priority-related events)
• General collaboration in the IFSAR thematic focus "Wohnen und Nachbarschaften"

Your qualification

• Completed degree in Soziale Arbeit at Bachelor level
• Competence to independently acquire specialist knowledge and to actively contribute this to the activities
• Ability to work in different contexts simultaneously
• High degree of personal responsibility and initiative
• Affinity for qualitative and possibly quantitative social research
• Analytical and conceptual skills
• Very good oral and written communication skills
• Interest in socio-spatial topics, particularly related to the subject areas of the focuses "Wohnen und Nachbarschaften" as well as "Aufwachsen und Bildung"
