The goal is to sustainably solve complex medical issues through modern research, responsibility, and scientific curiosity. The Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) unit accompanies active ingredients throughout the entire value chain – from target evaluation to market launch. Within PS, the Bioanalytics and Biomarkers (BioAM) Chapter is responsible for the development, establishment, and application of bioanalytical and biomarker-based methods in clinical trials. In close collaboration with therapeutic departments, hypotheses are converted into innovative medicines. Your role As a Lab Associate in the Cellular and Functional Biomarkers department, you will make a significant contribution to the development and implementation of modern biomarker strategies for preclinical and clinical programs. You will work both hands-on in the laboratory and at the interface with external partners and CROs. Framework conditions • Start: asap • Latest start: 01.03.2026 • Duration: 1.5 years (no extension planned) • Workload: 100% • Place of work: Basel • Home office: no • Travel activity: no • Team size: approx. 6 people • Area of deployment: Life Science White (LSW) Tasks and responsibilities • Planning, development, and validation of complex cellular, functional, and soluble protein biomarker assays • Independent execution, analysis, and critical evaluation of experimental results in compliance with regulatory and GxP requirements • Design, implementation, and optimization of experimental protocols including data interpretation and report creation • Support and accompaniment of method transfers to external partners as well as technical troubleshooting • Evaluation and implementation of new technologies for the further development of clinical biomarker strategies • Close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data quality, scientific excellence, and timely implementation • Presentation of results in internal and external meetings • Active participation in an innovation, safety, and compliance culture (SHE) Profile – What you bring • Bachelor's or Master's degree (no PhD) in a natural science discipline • At least 2 years of industry or CRO experience in the development of biomarker assays in a regulated environment • Solid practical experience with, among other things: • Cellular and functional assays (flow cytometry, pFlow, ELISpot/FluoroSpot, HTRF) • Ligand binding assays (ELISA, ELLA, Simoa, Elecsys, MSD) • Experience in the implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of bioanalytical methods • Very good understanding of GxP regulations • Experience with pharmacodynamic biomarkers in preclinical or clinical programs is an advantage • Scientific credibility through publications or external presentations • Proactive, team-oriented personality with high willingness to learn • Structured, solution-oriented way of working with a focus on patients and scientific added value • Ability to work securely in dynamic, matrix-organized environments ​ Unsatisfied, underchallenged, or looking for new challenges? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What are you waiting for?
