Process Operator Mercury Center with option for team leader function 100 % (m/f/d)

What you can achieve with us: You are the heart of our mercury processes and bear responsibility for one of the most critical functions in our company. You carry out highly specialized distillation and stabilization processes and thus contribute significantly to the environmentally friendly disposal and reprocessing of mercury waste. Your work is essential for compliance with strict environmental regulations, the safety of our employees, and the quality of our products. You are the key to our success in sustainable resource recovery. Your core tasks • Mercury distillation & reprocessing (Hg Center): You are an expert in the processing of mercury waste: from precise triage and preparation of contaminated sludges to the operation of distillation furnaces and the cleaning and filling of high-purity mercury for sale. You continuously monitor process parameters and mercury loads, document all work steps, and thereby ensure the highest quality and safety standards. • Mercury stabilization (Hg-stabilization): You operate specialized stabilization plants and carry out complex chemical processes: reactivation of stabilization solutions, dosing of reactors, filtration, and filling of HgS products. In doing so, you precisely control temperatures, filling levels, and reactor parameters – your carefulness determines the product quality. • Mercury-containing waste: As part of work preparation, you check deliveries for quality and acceptance conditions and assign them to the corresponding production units of the Mercury Center. You work closely with the production managers of neighboring plants and define procedures for processing the internal waste generated there in the Hg Center. • Quality assurance & logistics: Sample preparation, quality control, internal material flows, and warehouse management – you ensure that all processes run smoothly and that the highest standards are maintained. Safety & environmental responsibility: You are the guarantor of safe and environmentally friendly working conditions: compliance with environmental regulations, waste management, emission control, and contamination prevention are central responsibilities. Improvement projects & innovations: As an experienced practitioner at the interface between process and reality, you contribute valuable insights: you identify optimization potential in the distillation and stabilization processes, actively support improvement projects, and contribute innovative ideas to increase efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Your practical expertise is crucial for the development and implementation of process improvements. You work closely with technology, production management, and external partners. • Upon taking on the team leader function (option): You develop further into a shift leader: production planning and control, personnel management and team coordination, safety instructions, incident management, EHS reporting, and communication with authorities. You become the interface between plant management and the team. • What you bring with you: Completed vocational training as a chemical worker, chemical specialist, chemical technician, plant operator (EFZ), chemical and pharmaceutical technician (EFZ), or an equivalent qualification At least 3 years of professional experience in chemistry or the waste management industry Confident handling of hazardous substances and PPE Reliability, sense of responsibility, good physical resilience Fluent German (spoken/written) Knowledge of occupational safety and environmental protection Desirable: • Further training as an Industriemeister Chemie or federal diploma in chemical technology • Practical experience with distillation and stabilization plants • Comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety and environmental protection • Leadership experience or willingness to undergo further training • Experience in waste management/recycling and ISO management systems • Willingness to work shifts • Openness to innovations and improvement processes What we offer you: • Activity in a sustainability-oriented company in the recycling industry with a familiar working atmosphere • Extensive support for training and further education • Min. 25 days of vacation (depending on age, more) • Good social benefits and bonus system • Free parking at the location • Free drinks • Monthly z'Nüni • Annual birthday gift Interested?
