HPC Platform Manager and Software Developer

Zurich-Aéroport, Suisse (and home office) \| 80-100% What you can contribute to <br /> • Ensure the use of the HPC platform (CSCS) for MétéoSuisse applications and advance its development in collaboration with internal and external partners • Collect operational, research and development needs, prioritize and defend them to the CSCS, as well as coordinate improvements in terms of performance, stability and scalability of the system • Develop components of numerical weather prediction systems as well as associated workflow and data infrastructure, and adapt them to new technological requirements • Support and advise scientists in the fields of software development, HPC usage and operations • Ensure the reliable operation of critical production systems for business (including \<\< best-effort \>\> interventions and third-level support) <br /> What makes you unique <br /> • Master's or doctoral degree in computer science, numerical sciences or a related field • Several years of practical experience in software development, preferably with Python and modern computer development practices, as well as with cloud-native architectures • Experience in operating and developing high-performance computing environments, as well as complex data and software flows • Ability to identify technical requirements from different stakeholders, prioritize and implement them with internal and external partners • Good command of at least two official languages as well as English <br /> In a few words As part of an agile and motivated team, you will play a key role in managing the high-performance computing platform of the Swiss Computing Centre (CSCS) for MétéoSuisse. In collaboration with internal and external partners, you will ensure the reliable and efficient use of the platform, coordinate operational and development needs with the CSCS and contribute to the development of production systems and numerical weather prediction software components. As part of the operational team, you will also participate in the operation and monitoring of critical production systems for business.
