ICT-System Engineer (Operation POLYCOM)

Bern (and home office) \| 80-100% (job sharing possible) Your contribution • Operate the security radio system POLYCOM for the users of the army and connected organizations of the federal government • Manage and configure end devices in cooperation with the responsible departments for deployment and logistics • Ensure the seamless operation of the POLYCOM core infrastructure of the defense subnetwork • Participate in the project for the further development of POLYCOM in the defense subnetwork, from planning through design and development of sophisticated concrete solution proposals to testing, delivery, and operation of the solutions • Ensure IT service management for long-term use of the services as well as representation in national working groups (as required) • Create documentation, knowledge building, and training for the operations team and users <br /> What makes you unique • Training as an IT specialist (HF/FH), technician HF, or engineer (HF/FH) in the field of telecommunications or computer science • Sound knowledge of digital radio technology as well as basic understanding of mobile communication technologies (4G/LTE, 5G, Mobile Core, VoLTE, IMS) • Good knowledge of IP networks (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, DNS, VPN, Firewalls) as well as IT service management • Knowledge of monitoring, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of communication systems • Basic knowledge of security aspects of communication networks (e.g., encryption, authentication, certificate management) • Structured and independent way of working in the operational and project environment, including collaboration with suppliers <br /> In a nutshell Become part of the Kommando Cyber and be co-responsible for the seamless and secure operation of Switzerland's security radio system for the benefit of the army and the authorities and organizations for protection and rescue (BORS).
