• 01 July 2026 • 100% • Indeterminate duration • Windisch Teaching, research and practice - we connect ## Director, Head of the University of Teacher Education # Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and Arts FHNW ## Your tasks : With the operational management and prospective development of the University of Teacher Education of the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and Arts, an extremely interesting task with a great deal of leeway awaits you. The HEP FHNW, the second-largest University of Teacher Education in Switzerland, has around 3-900 students and the continuing education offers are used by more than 23-000 participants per year. It is the second-largest University of Teacher Education in Switzerland and enjoys international renown. In collaboration with the school management team • you will direct around 700 employees at the sites in Windisch, Muttenz and Olten, implement the school's strategy in the four performance areas of education, continuing education, applied research & development and services, and assume responsibility for its development • you will specifically direct the Perspective HEP change project • you will shape and influence teacher training that is both practice-relevant and science-based • you will succeed in integrating the heterogeneous requirements of different interest groups such as the practice field, students or politics, and implementing them in the offers • you will position the HEP FHNW in the educational space of Northwestern Switzerland as well as at the national level and network it with the corresponding interest groups • as a member of the FHNW management, you will assume co-responsibility for the development of the entire Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which consists of ten excellent universities Your profile : You are a welcoming, integrative, resilient and inspiring personality with great potential to continue growing in this position. In addition to a doctorate in educational sciences or social sciences, you have • a track record of performance and management experience in a leadership position (also with indirect management) in a significant organization, ideally in the university sector • proven experience in change management in large organizations • in-depth experience in the school sector and in teacher training • in-depth knowledge of the Swiss education system as well as the political system in Switzerland • the willingness and ability to build and maintain a network in the primary school environment (school management, teaching staff associations, etc.) as well as in the University of Teacher Education environment • high leadership, social and personal skills, particularly in collaboration with experts and political bodies • a sovereign presence and expert management of internal and external interest groups • a high level of linguistic proficiency in German and good knowledge of foreign languages in English and French The uniqueness of the FHNW is reflected in the combination of teaching and applied research as well as in the collaboration with practice.
