Stäfa is an attractive, livable and vibrant municipality on the right bank of Lake Zurich. The municipal administration sees itself as a competent service center for the still growing population, currently with well over 15'200 inhabitants. The long-standing Head of the Social Department will leave his position in March 2027 due to retirement. For this reason, we are looking for his successor:

Head of Social Department (80-100 %) ##

Your tasks:

You are responsible for the management of the department and the shaping of its professional, personnel and organizational development. Together with your teams, you ensure professional, law-compliant and needs-based support for the population.

• Leadership and development: Overall responsibility for the social area with the specialist fields of welfare, child/youth/family and asylum
• Strategy and organization: Further development of offers, processes and structures as well as ensuring efficient task fulfillment
• Professional responsibility: Ensuring qualitative, law-compliant and impact-oriented case work as well as the preparation of decision-ready bases for decisions
• Cooperation: Coordination with internal bodies, authorities, specialist organizations and external partners
• Control and advisory: Budget responsibility, resource planning as well as professional advice to superior bodies and political committees

Your profile:

• University of Applied Sciences degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Law and/or Public Management
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in the social sector, ideally in a municipal environment
• Sound knowledge of social assistance law as well as relevant legal and professional foundations
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication competence
• Strategic thinking, decision-making ability and a pragmatic approach to complex issues
• High social competence, negotiation skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation
• Team-oriented approach and a strong service mentality
