You are responsible for the financial management of the Mittelschul- und Berufsbildungsamt, lead a competent team, and shape processes and projects with an impact extending beyond the entire office through your work. Your tasks

• You bear the professional and personnel responsibility for the Finance & Controlling department and ensure the professionally competent, proper, timely, and service-oriented fulfillment of your tasks.
• You are responsible for the accounting for the office, the interim financial statements, the forecast, as well as the consolidated annual financial statements, and you manage the budget and financial planning process according to the specifications of the Bildungs- und Kulturdirektion.
• You ensure the accounting process (ERP) and an effective internal control system (IKS) and bear the responsibility for the business controlling of the office; in doing so, you also support the school managements in their business controlling.
• You recognize deviations from the financial goals of the office and the educational institutions early in the controlling process, actively propose corrective measures, and participate in task and resource management.
• You take over the leadership and coordination of cross-office projects -- in particular the SAP project management of the MBA -- as well as the creation of performance agreements and contracts and actively drive process management and change management.
• You lead the employees of the specialist department professionally and personally and perform the professional leadership of the financial officers in the decentralized units.
• You are a member of the executive management of the office and the ERP core team of the BKD (management of the procurement sub-project), represent the MBA at ERP-relevant events, and participate in further specialist groups.

Your profile

• Consecutive Master's degree as well as function-specific further training in finance and accounting; management training with regular knowledge updates
• Sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, especially SAP HANA
• Several years of professional experience in finance/controlling, accounting as well as business management and business administration, plus proven project management experience (method HERMES 5.0)
• Industry experience in finance or fiduciary services; experience in public administration is an advantage
• Several years of leadership experience with direct responsibility for 10--15 employees as well as at least 5 years of experience in a comparable function
• German business fluent (C2) and very good French skills (C1); English skills (B1) are an advantage
• Distinct strategic, entrepreneurial, and social competencies as well as a binding, appreciative leadership personality with high service orientation

It ensures a high-quality and demand-oriented educational offering and thus creates important foundations for the professional and social future of young people in the Canton of Bern.

The cross-sectional service Finanzen und Controlling (F&C) answers technical, administrative, and advanced questions regarding finance and accounting. In addition to processing invoices from and to the MBA, we are responsible for the annual financial statements as well as the financial planning of the office and take care of reporting on finance and statistics topics related to the office.
