This is how you can contribute

• Take responsibility for the conceptual and operational readiness in the assigned areas, including the Resource Management Confederation as well as the leadership basic area 4.
• Further develop earthquake preparedness for civil protection and its application, as well as coordinate training for building assessment after earthquakes in cooperation with internal and external bodies.
• Further develop the Host Nation Support (HNS) area within the Resource Management Confederation, ensure operational planning and leadership, and integrate the reception, coordination, and support of international aid into the national leadership and operational processes.
• Coordinate cooperation and interfaces with federal offices, cantons, as well as national and international partner organizations and systematically transfer the findings from exercises and real events into the further development of the processes.
• Contribute to the operational readiness of the deployment organization NAZ and perform on-call duty according to the applicable specifications.

What makes you unique

• University degree at Master's level or equivalent training.
• Distinct negotiation skills as well as strong persuasion and assertiveness.
• Ability to abstract, synthesize, and simplify complex facts in an understandable way.
• Self-confident and competent appearance. Experience as a commander of a unit of the Swiss Army.
• Active knowledge of two official languages and English, as well as passive knowledge of a third official language.

The Federal Office for Civil Protection BABS is the nationally recognized coordination office for civil protection between federal offices, cantons, and third parties. It provides foundations and coordination, particularly in the areas of risk analysis, warning and alerting, training, telematics and protection infrastructure, as well as disaster medicine, CBRN protection, and disarmament. Together with the cantons and other national and international partners, it possesses capabilities, current technologies, and infrastructures for managing disasters and emergencies.
