The Road Maintenance and Events section plays an essential role in the life of Sion. Nearly 100 female and male employees, distributed within several specialized teams, work daily to keep the city welcoming, functional, and safe.

From the maintenance of roads and watercourses to the management of infrastructure, including snow removal or event logistics, their activities are as varied as they are indispensable to the proper functioning of the community.

Following the retirement of the incumbent, the Ville de Sion is announcing a vacancy for a position as

Road Maintenance Worker M/F 80-100% ##

within the Public Works and Environment department, Road Maintenance and Events section.

Main Missions ###

Within the rural engineering team, you will primarily ensure the following tasks:

• Maintenance and mowing of torrents and bisses;
• Maintenance of road verges and slopes;
• Maintenance of technical infrastructure;
• Works related to urban sanitation.

Depending on needs, you will also be required to provide support to other teams in the section, notably for:

• Assembly and disassembly of installations during events;
• Driving the sweeper;
• Cleaning, salting, and snow removal work on roads and sidewalks.

Employment Conditions ###

• Basic training in a technical field;
• Possession of a driving license (category B mandatory);
• A category C driving license is an asset;
• M1-M3 machinist licenses are also an asset;
• Spirit of initiative, sense of service, good ability to work in a team or independently;
• Good physical condition;
• Availability for irregular hours, including weekends.
