Head of Department Open Youth Work Center ## Your new role You will take over the personnel, professional, organizational, and financial leadership of the Offene Jugendarbeit Zentrum and actively shape its further development. Together with the team, you will ensure a contemporary, needs-oriented, and future-oriented orientation of the Offene Jugendarbeit in the city of St.Gallen. As a member of the management team of the Dienststelle Kinder Jugend Familie, you will contribute youth-relevant topics, participate in strategic decisions, and represent the concerns of adolescents and young adults within the municipal structures. At the same time, you will remain close to practice: if required, you will work in the various offerings of the Offene Jugendarbeit Zentrum, accompany projects and actions together with young people, and support your team in the implementation of innovative and participatory offerings. You will promote cooperation with schools, specialist centers, associations, institutions, and other partner organizations and contribute to the visibility and further development of the Offene Jugendarbeit through targeted public relations work. Furthermore, you are responsible for budget planning and the careful use of the department's financial resources. Irregular working hours as well as assignments in the evenings and occasionally on weekends are occasionally part of this function. This position is for you if you • have a university degree of applied sciences in Social Work or possess a comparable qualification. • bring several years of experience in Open Child and Youth Work. • possess leadership experience or proven leadership competencies. • consider participation with the target group as well as the employees to be a matter of course. • can combine strategic thinking with proximity to practice. • enjoy promoting and developing employees and achieving goals together. • bring experience in project development and project management. • possess high social, communication, and networking competencies. • can appear confident and address a wide variety of stakeholder groups in an audience-appropriate manner. • want to take responsibility for finances, budgeting, and resource planning. • are flexible and bring the willingness to contribute at both the strategic and operational levels. Your employer The Dienststelle Kinder Jugend Familie is a specialist center for children and adolescents between 6 and 26 years, their reference persons, and other interested adults. It undertakes tasks such as counseling, providing information, support with ideas, and accompaniment of leisure activity offerings. The department Offene Jugendarbeit Zentrum of the Dienststelle Kinder Jugend und Familie of the city of St. Gallen provides diverse leisure offerings in the city center. With facilities such as the Jugendbeiz talhof, the Jugendkulturraum flon, the flonateliers, as well as the Mobile Jugendarbeit, it makes a significant contribution to youth culture in St. Gallen.
