Practical Training Position Social Work (FH)

Arbon is with over 16'000 inhabitants the third largest town in the canton of Thurgau. The former industrial town has developed in recent years into an attractive residential, working and holiday location as well as a popular excursion destination in Eastern Switzerland. Around 140 employees are working in the administration, the workshop and various external offices. The Department of Society offers a limited position from 1 February 2027 to 31 January 2029 or by agreement: Practical Training Position Social Work (FH) 50-60% ## Your responsibilities • Participation in initiating, planning and implementing projects according to the concept of the Department of Society, particularly in the fields of equal opportunities and participation, coordination and networking, participatory development and civil society cooperation • Participation in the implementation and further development of services of the Department of Society • Independent development of selected projects and services in consultation with the department management or practical guidance • Taking over administrative tasks (e.g. documentation, minutes) Your competencies • Start of the Social Work FH course or change to the main course with practical training • Enjoyment of socio-spatial topics such as participatory development, civil society cooperation, equal opportunities and participation • Interest in project management and development processes with large and small group moderations • High independence, communication skills and flexibility • Organizational and administrative skills • Willingness for individual evening and weekend deployments • Open and creative personality Our offer • An exciting challenge where you can help shape the future of the town of Arbon • Flexible working hours according to our flextime regulations • Regular practical guidance and coaching conversations • Modern and ergonomically equipped office infrastructure • Personal events for team promotion • If interested: Insights into other municipal areas (e.g. professional guardianship, social office, urban planning etc.)
