January 2027 or by arrangement Work location: Bern 40% Remote Work With your expertise, you ensure that valuable resources remain in cycles and that waste is recovered or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. You take responsibility for demanding permit procedures, advise companies and municipalities, and make an important contribution to environmental protection and resource conservation through your commitment. Your tasks <br /> • You enforce the requirements of federal and cantonal waste legislation and process permit and supervisory procedures in the field of industrial, commercial, and special waste • You advise companies, disposal companies, and municipalities on demanding disposal issues and monitor the legally compliant disposal of industrial and commercial waste • You inspect and accompany waste facilities -- especially in the area of scrap metal and sorting companies -- and carry out inspections • You independently lead interdisciplinary projects with technical and professional issues and work together with municipal, cantonal, and national authorities as well as specialist committees • You maintain specialist applications and support their further development <br /> Your profile <br /> • University degree in a technical direction (mechanical engineer, environmental engineer, chemist, or similar) or equivalent education/experience • several years of professional experience, especially in the enforcement of environmental protection legislation and the associated ordinances (waste law, chemical legislation), occupational safety, and health protection are desirable • motivating, convincing personality with assertiveness • independent, responsible, and solution-oriented way of working • very good German skills in spoken and written; good French skills are an advantage <br /> We offer you <br /> • varied tasks with responsibility and scope for design • dynamic environment in which the specialist field is constantly developing • individual induction and targeted further training in the field of waste management • possibility to work partially from home • work location in Bern near the Rosengarten, very well reachable with public transport <br /> Contact We look forward to getting to know you.
