Benken - Head of Engineering (m/f/d)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded personality with strong technical know-how as Head of Engineering (m/f/d). In this key position, you will take responsibility for engineering at our two locations. You will lead the technical team, manage the implementation of investment projects, and ensure the sustainable and value-oriented maintenance of our production facilities.

Your challenge

• Overall responsibility for the engineering of Romer's Hausbäckerei with the production sites Benken (SG) and Oberburg
• Planning and management of technical investment projects (CAPEX) as well as ensuring successful project execution through proactive resource planning and regular progress and cost controls
• Participation in strategic plant development and annual updating of plant planning as well as creation of the investment planning in coordination with the corporate strategy
• Functional leadership of repair and maintenance as well as ensuring sustainable, value-oriented maintenance and high plant availability
• Continuous optimization of processes, resource use, and technical competencies through CIP, Lean, and Change Management
• Responsibility for the engineering budget and the total investment budget as well as ensuring budget compliance
• Ensuring quality, internal service level agreements (SLA), and efficient communication and coordination with internal interfaces
• Guaranteeing compliance with legal requirements and standards as well as ensuring occupational safety and health protection in cooperation with the safety officer

Your qualifications

• University or FH degree in mechanical engineering, food technology, or a comparable technical field
• Several years of experience in the technical-operational management of a technical department, ideally in the food industry
• Sound knowledge of technical processes, operational workflows, as well as hygiene and GMP requirements
• Experience in project management, CAPEX and investment planning, budget and cost control, technical purchasing, as well as value-oriented, sustainable maintenance
• Good IT skills, especially MS Office and ERP systems
• Strong planning and organizational skills, networked and strategic thinking, as well as a high level of customer and service orientation
• Motivating leadership personality with strong communication skills, teamwork, and assertiveness, who also acts calmly and solution-oriented in hectic situations
• Very good German and good English skills
