It develops, controls, and realizes new constructions and renovations and is responsible for the management, maintenance, and repair of cantonal buildings. With around 320 employees, the Hochbauamt manages all objects in the administrative, financial, and fiduciary assets of the canton as well as the cantonal move-ins. It is responsible for the purchase and sale of cantonal plots of land as well as the planning and construction of public buildings within its area of responsibility. It is responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of structural and operational building maintenance, including maintenance, cleaning, supply and disposal, as well as real estate administration including rental, lease, and building rights. Furthermore, the Hochbauamt accompanies selected contaminated site remediation projects in the capacity of a client representative, in which the Canton Basel-Landschaft has to bear high loss costs.
