With 200 employees, it is the only university institute in Switzerland to unite all microbiological special disciplines in research, teaching and diagnostics under one roof. The IFIK is also the seat of the National Reference Center for Pneumococci (NZPn) and the National Center for Antibiotic Resistance ( on behalf of the Federal Office of Public Health. Tasks * First-level support and help desk including receipt, prioritization, analysis and processing of IT requests as well as escalation of more complex malfunctions * Advising and supporting employees with questions regarding ICT services and workplace systems * Installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Windows clients, notebooks, printers, peripheral and network devices * Administration of selected Windows servers, services, Active Directory as well as basic network services such as DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP * Participation in patch and update management, especially with WSUS, as well as monitoring of data backups and support during recoveries * Technical support of laboratory workstations, control systems and other institute-specific IT systems * Support during moves, commissioning as well as the takeover of new or modified hardware and software into operation * Participation in IT projects and in the introduction and further development of ICT systems * Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, inventories and user manuals as well as conducting user training * Support in procurement and administration of IT hardware, software and consumables * Support of selected special and web systems as well as participation in the IT on-call service * Compliance with applicable regulations, instructions and security guidelines Requirements * Completed vocational training as an IT specialist, preferably with a focus on systems engineering or platform development, or a comparable training * Professional experience in IT support as well as in the administration of Windows systems * Good knowledge in the areas of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policies and TCP/IP * Experience with Windows clients and Microsoft Office environments * Knowledge in the administration of Windows servers and in patch management * Basic knowledge in the area of networking, data backup and IT security * Experience in dealing with ticketing systems and structured support processes is an advantage * Independent, reliable and service-oriented way of working * Independent, structured and service-oriented way of working * High quality and security awareness * Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form Your Benefits Interdisciplinary cooperation Healthy corporate culture and good working atmosphere Team-oriented working Central location in the heart of Bern Working at UniBE The University of Bern offers not only exciting tasks, but also an environment that actively promotes development, diversity and equal opportunity.
